Coherent® Thermopile Power Sensors는 continuous wave laser 혹은 pulsed laser energy의 평균 파워값을 측정하는 데 적합한 제품입니다. Thermopile sensor는 입사된 레이저 방사선을 흡수하고 열로 전환한 뒤 방열판으로 전달함으로써 작동됩니다. 흡수체와 방열판 사이의 온도 차는 thermocouple junction에 의해 전기 신호로 변환됩니다. 반도체 센서와 달리 thermopile sensor는 포화(saturation)하지 않습니다. 이외에도 반도체 센서와 다른 thermopile sensor의 특징으로는 높은 파워 역량과 평평한 스펙트럼 반응이 있습니다.
