Consisting of doublet lenses matched for their color correction ability and small RMS spot size, Aspherized Acromats bridge the gap between color corrected acromatic lenses and spherical aberration corrected aspheric lenses. By fusing a molded polymer aspheric surface to the second surface of the doublet lens, a stable aspheric contour is created, successfully removing or reducing the wavefront errors present in typical achromatic lenses while boosting numerical aperture.
